Why Pools For Small Areas

It’s no secret that property sizes are shrinking across Melbourne. With the size of our homes growing at the same time, we’re left with small, almost non-existent backyards. If you’re not ready to give up on your dream of owning a pool, then a custom design for a tight space is the answer.

A pool in a smaller area isn’t just a space saving option. There are a number of benefits to having a compact pool, all of which can increase your home’s value. They’re smaller size make them far easier to maintain, as you aren’t having to add as much chlorine or other chemicals. They are also more affordable to heat due to their smaller volume, meaning you can save money during summer, or choose to heat them all year round. Pools for small areas can also make excellent water features – with the addition of fountains, rocks and lighting you can have a functional and aesthetically pleasing feature in your own property.

These options don’t just apply to courtyards and small spaces, you can use them in any number of gardens. As each of our pools are custom made to your specifications, they can be built to fit any irregular area – from a perfectly square courtyard to an oddly shaped sliver of lawn.

I have a narrow lawn, what pool should I choose?

For narrow properties, we always recommend lap pools. They give you the freedom to enjoy the water however you want, whilst also being perfect for exercising.

Is there any particular pool that suits a courtyard?

A courtyard pool will give you everything you wanted in an outdoor area, with the added benefit of minimal maintenance, thanks to its smaller size and volume.

Is there any way I can use a small pool for exercise?

If you don’t have the space for a lap pool, but still want to exercise, consider adding swim jets. These push you back allowing you to swim against the current whilst remaining stationary.
